Flashear TWRP.img en el Xiaomi Mi A3 para rootear el dispositivo no funciona

Trabajando en Ubuntu 20.04

Quiero Rootear mi dispositivo para desinstalar algunas aplicaciones (.apk) y posiblemente también instalar Ubuntu-Touch.
Quiero desinstalar casi todas las aplicaciones de Google porque no tengo una cuenta de Google y no quiero hacerlo. Sin una cuenta de Google no puedes usar la mayoría de las aplicaciones de Google (Gmail, YouTube, Drive...).
Hace unos meses, cuando compré el dispositivo, desbloqueé el bootloader, pero no tuve tiempo de rootearlo. Ahora quiero rootearlo.

He seguido estos TWRP para Xiaomi Mi A3 instrucciones y no puede flashear o arrancar el TWRP.img.

1. Me descargué: twrp-installer-3.4.0-0-laurel_sprout.zip y twrp-3.4.0-0-laurel_sprout.img lo ha rebautizado como twrp.img y twrp-installer.zip .
2. He copiado los archivos al dispositivo en /sdcard
