¿Cómo comprobar si el GPS está realmente en pausa después de apagar la pantalla?

Noto que la batería de mi Huawei P8 Lite (firmware stock ALE-L21C432B574 Marshmallow 6.0) se agota bastante rápido cuando uso el GPS y una aplicación de mapas durante los paseos en bicicleta. Solía durar más cuando compré el teléfono hace aproximadamente un año.

Me pregunto si el GPS está realmente en pausa cuando apago la pantalla.

¿Hay alguna forma de saberlo con seguridad, utilizando algún tipo de monitor?
